Windows Inspector - Discover Certificates in Use on Servers

It would be extremely useful if a Windows Inspector could discover any SSL Certificates that are in-use on a server.

Use case:

  • We get a notification that an SSL cert is expiring

  • After we renew it we then need to determine any and all servers where the certificate is in use and apply the updated certificate

  • Being able to use your scan to correlate which servers have which SSL certificate installed would be very helpful.

  • We have that ability with the external scans using the SSL Inspector but having the Windows Inspector pull that information for the internal network would be a really big help.

For example: mail.domainname.com or *.domainname.com

    @Steve King

    Yeah, plus it'll capture those oddball subdomains that you may not remember you had on a windows server somewhere.

    Auto-detection of SSL certs by Windows Inspector would be very slick! Some of these it will be assumed could be internal-only, so no public scan, but still relevant for inventory and tracking.
